Classification Service Disruption Following Version 1.49.0 Release

On August 13, 2024, shortly after the release of version 1.49.0 at 9:20 AM, we encountered an issue affecting the classification services for our IDP platform, Alfred. The disruption was caused by a problem with an underlying library used to wrap HTTP requests to our internal APIs. This issue resulted in intermittent failures in the communication between services, leading to the classification pipeline becoming temporarily unavailable.

Our engineering team responded promptly, identifying the root cause and implementing a fix. The affected library has been updated, and additional safeguards are now in place to prevent similar disruptions in the future. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and are committed to ensuring the continued reliability and performance of our services.
